General Information

Last few days left.... Just a bit of general information we thought would be useful for you to know...

If you are coming from India, please be aware that 500 and 1000 Rupee notes are not accepted in most places. The airport, most shops and even many money exchange places will refuse the note and tell that it is illegal tender in Nepal.
However, 100 Rupee notes are accepted almost everywhere... You can spend them here like local currency, so your 100 Indian Rupees will be 160 Nepalese...

You will be able to use these notes at DarkSun. Euros, Indian Rupees and Nepalese Rupees will all be accepted.

For those of you who do not have camping tents, there will be a limited supply for you to rent at the Festival, so be fast if you need one, it is a strictly "first come first served" policy. You will be provided with a two man tent, sleeping bag and ground mat. These will be rented out by Avia Tours and Travels.

Updates For Indian Citizens!

It's confirmed that for Indian Citizens either of the following three will definitely work at the airport as a valid ID : Pan Card, Voter's Card, Passport.

Important Passport Upates!!

For Indian Psyheads:

We've had recent reports from Indian friends who have tried to enter Nepal by Air without a passport and have found it nearly impossible to do so.
This is unforeseen and unexpected. We'd like to warn you in advance that you might need your passport. Please do try to find out for yourselves if you're Indian and flying in to Nepal.
See you on the other side... :)

Fears and Concerns

We are aware that some of you have worries about coming to Darksun Festival, especially in light of recent events.

Firstly let us assure you all that we have been working our hardest to make sure that this event will be safe and secure and that you will have totally peace of mind whilst at DarkSun Festival.

In order for us to be so confident in our event, we have been given the permission and approval of the Tourism board of Nepal. They have granted us with an N.O.C (No Objection Certificate) which entitles us to hold this event for the entire ten days.
We have also been given the backing and support from members of the local community of Pokhara and important political groups, who give their blessing for Darksun.

Location and Information....

We are really lucky to have found ourselves the most amazing floor for you to stomp in.
You will have the most amazing views of the natural beauty of Nepal, and a wide flowing river to enjoy.

Darksun Festival ground is located 10Km from Pokhara town center, a place called Bagmara on the bank of the Seti River.

There will be signs from Pokhara to lead you to the Festival....

Buses will be provided to take people from Pokhara to Darksun Festival, but please be aware of the volume of people, so try to arrange your own transport...

We would like to recommend Avia Tours and Travels to provide you with information and advise on the local area. They are able and happy to help with any queries and booking needs you have.
